PROJECT MISSION

Cybernet developed a system to improve upon existing military "vision blocks", or camera-supplied exterior vehicle views, by creating a panoramic virtual vision block environment. The system conceived by Cybernet includes an array of solid state IR, Radar, or CCD/Visual band sensors to give instantaneous panoramic coverage of the external world, and electronic frame buffers to hold multi-sensor data for processing and mapping to the display. Cybernet completed design, fabrication and testing of the prototype system, including an evaluation of available commercial head-mounted displays and head position tracking technologies.
