Strong African American Families Social Simulation Project Mission | Intellectual Property | Project Status The Strong African American Families (SAAF) Project's Social Simulation Prototype is an instructional software program that will engage rural African American teenagers and their parents within a 3D virtual social context similar to popular computer games like the Sims. Students operating the simulation will take the part of teenagers and parents that are placed in a social context (teenager/parent in the home). Through "first person" roles, they will interact with the environment and attempt to meet a disparate set of goals. These goals are often in conflict, and the students must learn to balance social, physical, familial, and academic needs. Learner-centered Design approach. Completed. |
