Download Now PROGRAMMABLE FORCE-FEEDBACK

CYBERNET Systems Corporation's CYBERIMPACT SDK is the most advanced force feedback development environment available. Its advanced features and device independence make it the standard for integrating force feedback into entertainment and virtual reality applications. The CyberImpact SDK version 2.0 for Windows95, NT, MS-DOS, SGI IRIX, and FreeBSD is now available for download. If other Unix versions are required let us know with e-mail or information request.

The software includes:

-Feature packed APIs.
-DirectInput Compatibility
-The Haptic Development Environment (HDE): a graphical tool for authoring "feels."
-Mouse emulation of force feedback hardware.
-Software for controlling CYBERIMPACT compliant devices. Software to support I-FORCE compliant hardware.
-Emulation layer to support future force feedback devices
-Support for geometric effects and user programmed effects
-Primitive effects emulation in hardware/firmware for fast response

The CYBERIMPACT software brings real physical interactions to entertainment, virtual reality, and simulation software. The CYBERIMPACT SDK supports simple force feedback effects like gun kicks and collisions in addition to supporting the creation of more advanced effects like flat tires, road textures, and balance. The CYBERIMPACT SDK will support your application on all commercial devices and provides device emulation and response tailoring features to support mapping from one device to another through configuration tuning, but without code changes:

OPEN ARCHITECTURE

The CYBERIMPACT SDK is designed to support all significant existing and future force feedback hardware and software including support for I-FORCE software/hardware and support for Microsoft DirectInput.

FLEXIBLE API

The CYBERIMPACT SDK includes a layered Application Programmer's Interface (API) that allows developers to choose the level of complexity/functionality that fits their needs.

ADVANCED FEATURES

In addition to basic force feedback functions, the CYBERIMPACT SDK includes programming features which facilitate development of advanced force feedback effects for the widest range of applications and development environments.

OFFLINE DEVELOPMENT

All functions of the CYBERIMPACT SDK are accessible through an extensive development environment. This environment includes a graphical user interface, and provides a means to compose "feels" quickly and easily outside the game environment. Through DirectInput, Microsoft and Immersion development tools are supported also.

DEVICE EMULATION

You can exercise the CYBERIMPACT software even if you do not have force-feedback hardware. This software supports using the mouse as a pseudo force-feedback device.

The CYBERIMPACT SDK makes your software more immersive and interactive.

Download the CYBERIMPACT SDK software now. The SDK is packaged as either a self-extracting archive (that will run a Win95/NT Install Wizard) or a gzipped TAR file (that can be extracted by common UNIX tools). So simply download and extract the 'CyberImpactSDKxxx.exe' or CyberImpactSDKxxx.tar.gz' file so you are ready to begin exploring the possibilities of force-feedback!!!

Note: The SGI IRIX version works in a client-server mode so you must also download the self-extracting Windows 95 server package named 'CyberImpactSDKW95Serverxxx.exe'. This runs on a slave PC controller. Further information is available in the CYBERIMPACT SDK documentation.

If you don't have one of the systems we support (Windows 95/NT, MS-DOS, IRIX, or FreeBSD) but are still interested in examining what the CYBERIMPACT SDK has to offer, a PostScript file of the complete and comprehensive CYBERIMPACT SDK Documentation is available. You can view the HTML version of the documentation on line or you can download by following the same link to download the CYBERIMPACT SDK and select the Postscript only version.
