Ann Arbor, Michigan - Cybernet Systems Corporation, a leading defense, engineering, and simulation systems development company, today announced that they have been awarded a contract from PEO STRI to develop a MEMS Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) Weapon Orientation unit.
Cybernet Systems is currently working with the U.S. Army to build a non-laser based means for precisely determining the pointing direction of a training weapon. This technology is applicable to training weapons that require NLOS direction and firing solutions, such as the M109A6 SP Paladin, M119A2 105 mm Towed Howitzer, and MK-19 Grenade Machine Gun. Cybernet’s small, low power, and low cost Inertial Measurement and Magnetometer Module (I3M) is being used to demonstrate dynamic self-calibration that scales to the Army’s pointing accuracy requirements.
