Under an Army SBIR Phase 2 Award, Cybernet will expand their Situation Aware Safety System (SASS) to develop a safety system that can be used on vehicles like the RCV-L.

SASS is capable of detecting objects near vehicles and predicting if these objects will interfere with vehicle motion. The SASS is part of their Autonomous Material Handling Technology (AMHT) appliqué kit that has been proven through multiple projects, both commercial and military.

As part of the effort, Cybernet will package SASS in a manner that is compatible with Government systems (such as the Robotics Tool Kit), extend SASS to include other sensor modalities, and be able to differentiate a wider range of objects. The project will also include testing the repackaged and extended SASS on an existing Cybernet vehicle and will be compatible with the RCV-L platform.
